Saturday is a very special day for 7-year-old Desmond as the WNY community will be driving by in a parade to wish him happy birthday. Desmond has been battling leukemia for the past year and his mom, Meghan, wants to make sure it’s a special one! She says birthdays are a big deal in their family. Des’s will be no exception, even during a pandemic.
But now Des and his mom want to give back, too. For every car that drives by the parade for Des, they will donate to pediatric cancer organizations that directly work to help children battling the terrible disease that is cancer.
The organizations they will be helping are:
Make-A-Wish WNY
Courage of Carly
PUNT Foundation
Camp Good Days
Desmond’s parade will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 23 at Green Lake Park, 200 N. Lake Drive in Orchard Park. Line up will begin at 12:40 at the Village Library parking lot.
